Some Notes on July

The video selection from July was not really worth putting a montage together because, I do believe, they were emailed/ texted etc. at the time they were done and they may be a little redundant. So, we’ll just be moving right along with the things that July taught me…

When spending $30 on a pair of shoes for your child seems too much I look to Crocs. Crocs may just be the most perfect kid shoe ever invented. As such, I can usually justify their expense as I know they will be so well-worn that I wouldn’t even donate them to Goodwill. Jibbitz are optional but since, last I checked, I am still a girl I like to accessorize. One of their most wonderful features is how easy they are to clean. On a whim, I decided to follow someone’s advice about washing them in the dishwasher (I’ve sanitized other things in there – so why not?). I think they failed to mention to skip the heat dry. I shrunk these. At least, they’ll be worthy of passing along (and, the Jibbitz were safe)…

Another harsh truth that came to light is that all of you people don’t love me enough to save me from mulching my yard. Yeah, I know it’s my yard but those really just seem like details once the pile was delivered. Good news! I’m sure we’ll have another pile next year if you would like to redeem yourself in my eyes…

Just kidding! Sort of. I still love most of you. If I don’t it’s not a secret. Subtlety is not my forte.

And, lastly, remember it’s important to have the right tools for the job. So when raising someone to pick up bugs for you a bug sucker, a big bucket and a nap are all essential tools of the trade.

Wowza! I just finished my last little travel journal entry. I managed to sum up our trip in a measly 9,000 words. Thanks for hanging in there!

As soon as I get the pictures sorted out I’ll make the rest of the travel journal public. Hopefully, within the week. It is all so dependent on how much alone-time I get with my computer.

Maybe I should name my computer. Would that be weird? I really love him.

This is not my most flattering photo but see how well you pose while playing pool float! There are no pictures of Dave in the Dead Sea. Ooops, guess we'll have to go back...

The Boy and The Frog

I don’t know if you are aware but one of SBW’s favorite things is to have a story told to him. One night, that I often regret, I made up one about a boy chasing a frog and they happen to get caught up in the toxic waste dumping from a ball factory. Which, of course, gives the boy the powers of a frog and the elements of rubber. It is truly fascinating until you are anywhere and everywhere with a three-year old begging you to tell him five more stories about the ‘Frog and the Boy’ (well, actually, the Frog Boy). It does help that he is adorable in his adamant insistance that I keep reading [with your mouth]!

I love Halloween and having a kid that loves dressing up. He has a ton of costumes but for school dress up it was all about Peter Pan! I promised him I would stay for their Costume Parade. This is such a double-edged sword as I get to take pictures but he is not as happy as I think he would be if I weren’t there (since he knows I’m leaving afterward).

What I love most is that he wanted me to get a Wendy costume. Awwwww, my baby!

And, We’re Back

It’s a little ironic how well I was able to keep up with my little blog while abroad and then once I got home it turned into the proverbial red-headed step-child.

Ah well, cest la vie.

We are home and to reward the faithful (that’s you Dad) for your patience whilst I get back into the groove of blogging (the house is almost organized enough for me to feel functional) there will be a special post today. It will not be a cheat (like this one), nor will it be about Israel (I’m getting there), nor will it be updates from June. It will be a full-fledged completely topical and current post.

So check in with me in a couple of hours (it really is painful for me to not complete one OCD task before starting this one) and it will be Blogoween!
